The Indian team has announced their final 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup 2019 slated from May 30, 2019 in UK. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
There weren’t any surprise inclusion or exclusion in the squad. However, the exclusion of Rishab Pant has been the talking point. The Veteran Dinesh Karthik had taken the place of second wicket-keeper’s slot, pipping out young Rishabh Pant.
“The second wicketkeeper comes into play only if Mahi (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) is injured. We went ahead with Karthik because of his experience in big matches,” Prasad said while announcing the squad here.
The 15-man squad includes five batsmen, two wicket-keepers, three fast bowlers, three all-rounders and two spinners.
India’s Final squad: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni (WK), Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami.
