Nepal’s duo Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami have been picked up for Global T20 League 2019 in Canada. Lamichhane has been picked up by Toronto Nationals whereas, Winnipeg Hawks picked up Sompal Kami.
This is the first time that Kami is selected to play in foreign franchise league. However, for Lamichhane this is his second time in Global T20 League. Last year, Lamichhane played from Montreal Tigers.
Lamichhane was sold out in the very first round of the Associate players round and Sompal was picked up in the following round.
Several Nepali players had registered their names for the league, which includes the likes of Karan KC, Dipendra Singh Airee, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Sunil Dhamala and others around a couple of dozens players. They weren’t picked up by any teams.
Lamichhane’s Toronto Nationals consists the players like Brendan McCallum, Yuvraj Singh, Pollard, Boult. Similarly, Winnipeg Hawks comprises of players like Chris Lynn, Bravo, JP Duminy, Colin Munro, Sahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz and many more.
Global T20 League is all set to start from July 25 and will end on 11 August.
