Sandeep and Sompal to play each other in Global T20 playoff

Nepali player duo Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami are set to take on each other in the playoff of the Global T20 League in Canada.

Lamichhane’s Toronto win in the last match of the league confirmed Sompal’s Winnipeg’s playoff qualification. With the win, Toronto Nationals finished third and Winnipeg Hawks finished fourth in the league.

The first and second-placed team will play the qualifier 1 whereas third and fourth-placed will play eliminator. The winner of eliminator will take on the loser of the qualifier. The winner of qualifier advance to the final. The eliminator will be played on 9th August, starting from 10:15 pm.

Lamichhane is almost sure to play but in Sompal’s condition, it is still not confirmed.

Lamichhane grabbed a wicket in Toronto win

Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed yet another wicket in onging Global T20 League in Canada. This is Lamichhane’s consecutive single wicket inning in three matches. He had grabbed 1 in the first match, 1 in the second and the onle one in the third as well.

Toronto Nationals defeated Montreal Tigers by 35 runs. Toronto had posted the target of 189 runs in the 20 overs. In reply, Montreal Tigers were all out with 154 runs on the board.

In bowling, Lamichhane bowled 3 overs in which he gave away 25 runs and grabbed a wicket.
