SAFF Offer Nepal to Host SAFF Championship 2021

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has sent a conditional offer to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to host the SAFF Championship 2021 in Nepal. The 13th edition of SAFF Championship was supposed to be hosted by Bangladesh in September.

However, Bangladesh decided not to host the tournament citing the covid-19 issues, the championship is now postponed to October with new host hosting the championship.

According to the ANFA, SAFF General Secretary Anwarul Huq sent a conditional hosting letter to ANFA General Secretary Indraman Tuladhar to host the Championship in Nepal.

General Secretary Tuladhar said ANFA will now ready a detailed proposal of the Championship and send it to SAFF for approval.

The final decision regarding hosting will be taken in the SAFF executive meeting which will take place in the first week of August.

Nepal is yet to reach the final of the most prestigious footballing event in South Asia.
