Sabitra scored one and assisted another as Gokulam wins Hero Women’s League

Nepal international Sabitra Bhandari scored the winner with only 3 minutes remaining on the clock. With the score being 2-2 tied, Bhandari scored in the 87th minute to guide Gokulam Kerela to the maiden Indian Women’s League(IWL) title.

Gokulam Kerela defeated KRYPHSA 3-2 in the final match played at Bangalore Football Stadium. Prameshwori Devi scored in less than a minute of the start to give Gokulam Kerela the lead. In this process, Sabitra Bhandari provided an easy pass to Prameshwori Devi.

Similarly, Gokulam doubled the lead in 25th minute as Kamala Devi free-kick took a deflection. However, Gokulam conceded two goals and the score was leveled at 2-2.

With the match heading towards the end, Sabitra Bhandari, the league’s top scorer, found a late winner in the 87th minute as she struck home with a tap-in off a cross from Manisha Kalyan.
