Rohit Paudel’s Toronto Nationals Eliminated from Global T20 League Canada

Rohit Paudel’s Toronto Nationals have been eliminated from the Global T20 League Canada after a disappointing exit in the Eliminator match. This defeat also marks the end of the tournament for all three Nepalese players, as Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee’s Vancouver Knights were knocked out earlier in the group stage.

Toronto was scheduled to face the Bangla Tigers Mississauga in the eliminator, but the match was abandoned without a toss due to a wet outfield. As a result, the Bangla Tigers, who had finished third in the group stage, automatically advanced, while Toronto, finishing fourth, was eliminated. The first qualifier was similarly affected by rain, allowing the Montreal Tigers to progress directly to the final.

Nepal’s captain, Rohit Paudel, made his debut in an overseas franchise league during this tournament, featuring in a couple of matches. Although he missed the first game due to visa issues, Paudel made a significant contribution in his debut appearance with an outstanding run-out and a remarkable catch, though he didn’t get a chance to bat.

In his second match, he managed 10 runs off 25 balls in a game where his team was bowled out for just 81. Unfortunately, he did not get any further opportunities to play.
