Fan Favorite Pubudu back in Nepali Cricket with another T20 World Cup Hope

Pubudu Dassanayake is back in Nepal Cricket as the Cricket Association of Nepal appointed him the head coach of Nepali Cricket following a series of interview with number of candidates.

Dassanayake will be handed over the responsibility of the Nepali side after more than 4 years of his departure. In 2017, he worked as consultant coach for the Nepali side during the ICC Cricket League Championship.

Under the guidance of Pubudu, Nepal played their first ever ICC T20 Cricket World Cup back in 2014 in Bangladesh. In that World Cup, Nepal defeated Hong Kong and Afghanistan after suffering a respectful loss to test nation Bangladesh.

Once again, the main task for Pubudu will be the T20 World Cup qualifiers which is slated for February in Oman. Nepal is playing the Global Qualifiers and are rooted in group A along with Oman, Ireland, UAE, Canada, Germany and Philippines. Nepal will need to finish inside top 2 in order to confirm their place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
