Nepal’s Bharat Khawas aims to be Nation’s highest scorer
Nepal International Bharat Khawas aims to break the national record of highest international goals. In an virtual interview with the 28-years old versatile Nepali forward with a Nepali media, Khawas expressed his desired to break the record made by his senior players.
Bharat Khawas has scored 10 international goals in 53 appearances for the national side. He is also the highest active goal scorer for his nation. Another prolific forward Bimal Gharti Magar is chasing him who has 8 goals in his name and is just 22 years old.
Khawas is just three goals away from equaling the record held combinedly by Hari Khadka and Nirajan Raymajhi. Nepal is set to play three matches in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (against Australia, Jordan and Chinese Taipei) at home. This could be the match for him to achieve the milestone.
“Its been around 12/13 years since I have started playing for the national side. I have ten goals in my name for the national team. I will try hard to surpass the record of 13 goals made by Hari Khadka and Nirajan Raymajhi.” Khawas said in the interview.
“I am determined to complete that target in near future.” He added.
