In the second match of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup, Pakistan Women defeated Nepal by nine wickets. In this must-win match, Pakistan easily chased down a 109-run mark in 11.5 overs, losing only one wicket.
The openers gave a fantastic performance, scoring 105 runs combined. Gull Feroza led the onslaught with a stunning half-century, hitting 57 runs off 35 balls, including ten boundaries, before getting removed. Muneeba Ali completed the victory with a boundary to remain unbeaten at 46 runs. Kabita Joshi took Nepal’s only wicket.
This victory was critical for Pakistan because a loss would have eliminated them from the semifinals, especially after their previous setback to India.
Earlier in the contest, Nepal, invited to bat first, scored 108/6. Despite a good start, they battled in the middle overs as wickets fell at a consistent rate. Kabita Joshi’s vital late innings helped Nepal set a manageable target.
Nepal will take on India in the 23rd July in their final group match.
