Nepal to play friendly against Maldives

Nepal National football team is all set to play an international friendly against the Maldives as a part of their preparatory campaign for FIFA World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifiers.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has proposed the Maldives Football Federation for a friendly match. The Maldives looked positive, yet the official confirmation on the approval is not done.

Nepal is taking on Kuwait on 5th September (19th Bhadra) in Kuwait. The match was supposed to be a home match, but it is now a home match away from home for Nepal. The friendly match is expected to be played a week prior to the qualifiers’ match.

Last time Nepal played against the Maldives was back in SAFF Championship semi-final where Nepal had lost surprisingly.

Nepal are drawn against Australia, Jordan, Chinese Taipei and Kuwait in the qualifiers.
