The Spanish La Liga is resuming from June 11 with a Sevilla derby and the current leaders were hit with a major blow after their skipper Leo Messi picked un an injury.
However, Barcelona received a major boost now as the six-times Ballon d’or winner is back in team training with his fellow team-mates.
Leo’s return in the full training signifies that the Argentine will be fit for the La Liga return match of Barcelona. Barcelona is playing away to Real Mallorca on Saturday, two days after the restart.
The Argentine has picked up an adductor injury during training and has been a major absentee in Quique Setien’s side training session in past few days.
Leo was spending his time alone at training in isolation, doing specific exercises to avoid unnecessary risks. Nevertheless, the skipper returned to the team training on Monday.
“Leo has a cramp that’s not hugely significant. I think he’s perfectly fine and he won’t have any problems. It’s the same for any other player. We’ll see how the league goes and what circumstances come up.”
“We have lots of games and a small squad. I always want to have Messi on the pitch, of course.” Barcelona boss Setien told Movistar.
