Bangladesh all time successful skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, along with left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam and opener Nafees Iqbal were tested positive positive to COVID-19.

The former skipper himself confirmed the news via his official Facebook account.

“Today my result is positive. Everyone please pray for me so that I can get well soon. I am currently taking treatment from home and complying with the necessary restrictions.” the 36-year-old wrote on Facebook.

Mortaza has played over 200 one-day internationals for Bangladesh, only stepping down as captain in the 50-over format earlier this year.

Similarly, Cricinfo also confirmed that two other players were tested positive to the virus.

There are currently more that 108,000 infections and more than 1,400 deaths in Bangladesh.
