Barcelona coach Quique Setien made it clear that the Blaugrana skipper Lionel Messi will fit for La Liga restart match against Real Mallorca.
Current league leader Barcelona is palying against Real Mallorca on Saturday at Camp Nou.
Leo has already joined his team-mates in the training. However, the Argentine wasn’t involved in inter-squad friendly.
There was a fear of Messi missing the first match for Barcelona after league restart as he picked up an adductor injury during training. Messi spend couple of days training in isolation nursing a thigh complaint. He joined the team training on Monday.
“We never had any doubts about Messi’s availability for Mallorca,” Setien told Cadena COPE. “He is fine. He had a minor issue but there have been others that have also had problems after such a long break. He stopped [training] as a precaution.
“If we risk players unnecessarily, they could end up being out for two weeks. And that would mean they would miss four of the 11 games we have left.”
Along with Leo Messi, the Club’s other main man Luis Suarez will be available for the selection. Suarez has missed the latest match for Barcelona after sustaining major injury. However, Barcelona boss confirmed that Uruguayan will be available for the match.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele will remain out for the match who has been a long-term absentee for the club.
Barca are two points clear of second placed Real Madrid with eleven rounds of matches left to play.
