The VIVO IPL 2021 Player Auction list was shortened to 292 players from more than 1000 cricketers. Among them, only one Nepali player was shortlisted and he is Sandeep Lamichhane.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has submitted a list of 8 Nepali players but the other seven couldn’t make it to the final list. The final list was prepared after the eight franchises submitted their shortlist of players.
In the list, Lamichhane’s base price has been set for INR 40 Lakhs. Previously, Lamichhane was picked for base price of INR 20 Lakhs by Delhi Capitals, three years ago.
The auction for VIVO IPL 2021will be held in Chennai on February 18th, 2021.
As per mentioned in the official site of IPLT20, INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price and two Indian players – Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav – and eight overseas players – Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy & Mark Wood have chosen to be slotted in the highest bracket.
Only three players from the Associate nations are there in the final list of the auction.
