Lamichhane off to UK to Play ‘The Hundred’

Nepal’s leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane flew to UK to take part in the inaugural edition of The Hundred cricket league scheduled to start from July 21. Lamichhane will represent Oval Invincible in the league.

The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men’s and women’s teams located in major cities across England and Wales.

Lamichhane missed out his debut appearance in Vitality Blast due to the visa problem for the same nation. However, the problem was later solved and was able to fly to UK for The Hundred cricket tournament.

The Hundred is a 100 balls tournament which was scheduled for 2020 but was forced to be postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. Therefore,  a modified retention process was drawn up ahead of 2021 and Sandeep Lamichhane was retained by Oval Invincible.

Previuosly, Lamichhane was picked up for 100 thousands pounds. However, the salary bands in the men’s competition have been cut by 20%, meaning Lamichhane will now be paid £80,000.
