Veteran striker Jumanu Rai scored a brace in the quarter-final match of 22nd Budha Subba Gold Cup. In the match played at Dharan stadium on Sunday, Nepal Police Club defeated Kakarvitta football Training Centre 3 goals to one.
After the win, the Cops advanced to the semi-final of one of the biggest ‘Maufasal’ tournament.
It was Kakarvitta who took an early lead in the 10th minute. However, Suman Subedi scored in the 41st minute to level the score before Rai scored in the 43rd minute to provide the lead. Rai, then sealed the match for the Cops in 77th minute after scoring his team’s third goal.
The tournament has winning purse of Nrs 10 lakh.
