Nepal suffered a major blow after being knocked-out from the T20 World Cup qualifiers. However, Nepal skipper Paras Khadka achieved a major boost after his ICC T20 ranking improved drastically.
As per the new ranking, Khadka has been ranked 25th in the all-rounder. This is the best ever rank for any Nepali players. Previously, Khadka was at 39th position. He had jumped 14 position up in the ranking.
With the new ranking, Paras Khadka is now ahead of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, New Zealand’s Colin de Grandhomme, England’s Joe Root, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and West Indies’ Andre Russel. This is not ordinary for a player from Nepal’s level.
Paras Khadka was phenomenal in batting in recent T20I matches. Therefore, he has also made improvement in batting rank as well. He jumped 27 places up to 66th from 93rd position. His news position is ahead of the Indian legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Chris Gayle, and another Indian Rishab Pant.
Similarly, the other Nepali players Sompal Kami and Basanta Regmi have fallen further. Kami slips to 66th position from 48th in all-rounder. Basanta Regmi holds the position of 71st in bowling with Sompal Kami at 68th.
