The 2023 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup is set to take place in India, starting from October 5th and concluding on November 19th. Leading up to this, teams will participate in a series of preparatory matches from September 29th to October 3rd.
There will be total of 10 warm-up games, hosted across three cities: Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad.
On the first day of the warm-up matches, Bangladesh is set to clash with Sri Lanka in Guwahati, while South Africa will challenge Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram, and New Zealand is scheduled to meet Pakistan in Hyderabad.
Following their recent victory over Australia in a tri-series, the Indian cricket team will commence their warm-up journey against England in Guwahati on September 30th. Subsequently, they will match up against the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram on October 3rd.
Post these preparatory games, the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup will set the stage alight, beginning with a reprisal of the 2019 final, as England and New Zealand face off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The hosting nation, India, will embark on their World Cup journey by taking on Australia in a challenging opener in Chennai on October 8th.
