Breaking: Dav Whatmore appointed as Head Coach of Nepali Cricket Team

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Thursday that World Cup winning coach, Dav Whatmore will be the head coach of Nepali Cricket team.
The association has completed the interview of the candidates for the position of head coach last month, which also includes the likes of Apurwa Desai, Pubudu Dassanayake, and many more renowned coaches.
Dav Whatmore has a very successful career as a coach. He was the head coach of Sri Lanka when Sri Lanka won the Cricket World Cup in 1996. Whatmore has coached the Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan cricket teams.

Similarly, Whatmore was the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders team from 2010 to 2011. In 2010, they finished 5th and were again eliminated in group stage.
Nepali Cricket team is currently under closed camp and are preparing for the tri-series against Oman and USA. The series could be the first task for the newly appointed coach.
