Nepal is welcoming their first away opponents of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asia Cup 2023 qualifiers in their home ground. The venue is fixed as Dashrath Stadium. However, it is not 100% sure that the match will be played at Dashrath Stadium. Nepal is taking on Kuwait on 19 November.
The only international stadium in Nepal was destroyed by the earthquake in 2015 and is gaining its shape back. However, still few works are left. The ordinary parapets of the stadium is covered with roof but the the parapets at VIP side is yet to be covered with roof.
Similarly, the seats are being installed in the stadium. The seats just arrived from China a couple of days ago. According to Nepal Sport Council, the roof for the VIP side will arrive soon and they will start installing it. The NSC secretory Ramesh Silwal is confident that the stadium will be ready on time.
Changing Rooms, media box, medical and other facilities are ready in the stadium. Similarly, the pitch condition is also good. The watering on the grass in done on regular basis and the ground also looks ready for the match.
However, the NSC had kept the APF Halchowk ground as reserve to the Dashrath Stadium.
