Real Madrid joins the race for Leverkusen’s Havertz, Chelsea stands as Favourites
Kai Havertz Transfer News: Blues remain confident after almost confirming the signing of Timo Werner.
Along with the Blues, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United are in line to sign the Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz. Recently, Real Madrid has joined the race.
Spanish giants Real are the latest to register an interest in German youngster Havertz, who is regarded as Germany’s best young talent since Michael Ballack.
However, despite the interests from top European sides, Chelsea are reportedly confident of landing the German star at Stamford Bridge to pair with Timo Werner according to the report by The Sun.
Chelsea has has almost done Timo Werner deal after the Blues were ready to pay £54m release clause. The Bayer’s mid-fielder would cost around £70 million or could exceed the amount.
It was Bayern Munich at first to show interest in the player but later the English teams join the race and the player is keen on a move to an English club.
With other English Clubs Manchester United and Liverpool showing interest on the player, Havertz could prefer Chelsea so as to team up with his national team partner, Werner.
Havertz has scored 15 goals this season so far in all competitions including 10 assists among which five of the goals come after the resumption of the Bundesliga. Havertz has been in the Leverkusen first team since he was 17 and has seven caps for Germany.
