Chelsea is visiting the King Power Stadium stadium in the quarter final match FA Cup. The Blues is taking on the Foxes two days after beating second placed Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
We can expect a lot of rotation in the team when Lampard’s side take on Leicester City.
In a pre-match conference , the Cheslea boss said: “We will certainly have to think about if we need to rotate a bit to keep the freshness in the players and it is nice that I can call upon players, particularly in certain areas of the pitch.”
“We’re fortunate to have a few players who were injured before lockdown. It’s important for the players who did not start (against Man City) to stay fit and fresh.” Lampard said hinting on Ruben Loftus -Cheek and Pulisic return.
Lampard has strong players for the rotations as well. Jorginho could lead the Blue with the skipper Azpilicueta being rested. Jorginho is yet to feature after the lockdown. Similarly, Kovacic and teenager Billy Gilmour could support Jorginho at the mid. Ruben could be pushed to the right wing.
Rece James and Emerson are the best alternative in the back line with Zoum holding the center alongside Rudiger.
Tammy Abraham came in as sub in both the previous matches. The forward could start against the Foxes on Sunday.
Chelsea Possible XI: Kepa; Emerson, Zouma, Rudiger, Rece James; Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic; Pedro, Abraham, Willian.
