The UEFA on Wednesday exclusively announced the resume date of UEFA Champions League and Europa League following UEFA Executive Committee meeting.
In a press release by the UEFA, it announced that quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon, Portugal in August.
Along with the final match, all the quarter-final and semi-final ties will be single legged and will be played at neutral venues.
However, UEFA is yet to made a decision over the match venues for the remaining four round of 16 second leg fixtures. The decision will be either to play at home team’s stadium or in Portugal. The Estádio do Dragão in Porto and the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães will host the four outstanding round of 16 second legs if required.
Four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final match will be played in Benfica’s Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sporting CP’s Estádio José Alvalade.
Outstanding Round of 16 Fixtures
- Lyon vs Juventus
- Real Madrid vs Manchester City
- Bayern vs Chelsea vs Bayern Munich
- Napoli vs Barcelona
These remaining fixtures will be played in-between 7-8 August, yet the venues are not confirmed. Four quarter-finals will be played from 12-15 August, semi-finals on 18-19 August and the final match will be played in August 23. All fixtures will kick off at 21:00 CET (20:00 GMT).
Key points to remember
- All the teams will be allowed to register three new players but can’t be the new signing after February 3, 2020.
- Five substitution will be allowed for the remaining of the matches for the season 2019/20.
