Breaking: Gyanendra Malla appointed as new captain of Nepali cricket team

Gyanendra Malla has been appointed as the new skipper for the Nepal national cricket team. In a meeting held by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the decision was made. Similarly, the all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee was appointed as the deputy skipper.

Malla has been serving as vice captain of Nepali team in past decade. Following the resignation of Paras Khadka from the captain position, Malla was appointed to fill up the void. This is the the first time that Malla will be leading the team. He has done that in many occasions. However, all of those came in the absence of then skipper Paras Khadka.

Nevertheless, from now onward, Malla will be leading the team in the presence of Khadka as well. He had lead the team in 2017’s ACC Emerging cup.

The meeting was conducted in the presence of CAN president Chatur  Bahadur Chand.
