This season brings a fresh look with 8 formidable teams: Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder.
In response to feedback regarding the league’s duration, the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 has undergone a reduction to 44 matches from the previous 61. Each team is slated to participate in 10 league games, with the top two teams locking horns in the Qualifier for a chance at the coveted final.
The league stage of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 will comprise 40 matches, with the top 4 teams advancing to the playoffs. In a departure from prior formats, this season will feature 4 playoffs instead of 5.
The Qualifier on January 19 will see the top two teams clash, while the Knockout on January 20 will witness a battle between the third and fourth-placed teams. On January 22, the Challenger match will determine the finalist by pitting the loser of the Qualifier against the winner of the Knockout.
