The world champions Argentina takes on the Asian giant Australia in their first of the two international friendlies in China. The first friendly against Australia will be played on 15th June.

The Argentine team will be looking to continue their momentum after the FIFA World Cup 2022 truimph whereas, the Australian side will be looking to avenge their defeat at the hand of Argentina in the round of 16 of FIFA World Cup 2022.

The match against Australia will be Argentina’s third match as a world champions. In the previous two matches, Argentina defeated Panama 2-0 followed by 7-0 truimph of Curacao. Leo Messi scored four goals across the two fixtures and will be looking to continue his scoring from in Argentine shirt against Australia as well.

The World Champions will be without the injured centre-back Lisandro Martinez along with Juan Foyth, Papu Gomez, Angel Correa, Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez who are all left out by the head coach Scaloni subjected player’s fatigue.

The treble winner with Manchester City Julian Alvarez is named in Scaloni’s squad. However, he is unlikely to feature in the first friendly against the Socceroos.
