Argentina advanced to quaterfinal after beating Qatar

Argentina advanced to the quarterfinal of the ongoing Copa America 2019 as Group B runner-up after a hard fought victory over Asian Champions Qatar.

Colombia topped the group with 100% win record after finishing off their group stage campaign with 1-0 win over Paraguay.

Argentina were left with a must-win match against Qatar in order to go through to knock-out stage. The starting minutes went good for the Argentine team as Lautaro Martinez provided an early lead for the Leo Messi’s side. However, after the goal the Argentine team looked fragile. Qatar took control over the for some moment. But the first half ended in 1-0 scoreline.

With clock ticking away, Sergio Aguero made it more easier after he scored a brilliant goal later in the second half to seal a 2-0 victory over the Asian Champions.

Now, Argentina will take on the runner-up from group A, i.e. Venezuela in their quarter-final match on 29th June.
