Afghanistan, A Dark Horse in Cricket World Cup 2019

The biggest international cricket tournament, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is going to kick off on 30th May 2019 in England. Total 10 test nations will be competing in the tournament which is going to capture the world’s attention in every balls that will be bowled in every matches. Afghanistan is one of those 10 teams competing in the World Cup and is going to pose much bigger threats to other teams.

This edition World Cup is not going to be of much enthusiasm for the associate nations as the teams this time was limited to 10 which consists of only test playing nations and the associate members are not being impressed by this backward step taken by ICC. So Afghanistan is going to advocate these associate nations in a way as the history of Afghanistan rise in cricket is not far behind. It got the test playing status only some couple of years back. Afghanistan has marked its big presence in the World Cricket in these recent years with back to back impressive cricket. Afghanistan can be the dark horse of the tournament. It is seeded in 10th position in ICC ODI ranking and its obvious the team is eager to improve its presence in the global tournament. The strength of Afghanistan team rely on the bowling with top bowlers Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb ur Rahman being capable of turning the match in any moment as they are capable of bringing the problems to batsmen in any kind of wicket. Though, the batting is taken as the weaker part of the team, it cannot be underestimated with the batsmen such Rahmat Shah, Mohammad Shahzad, Hasmatullah Shahidi can play aggressive batting with Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan too are capable of making an impact.
