4 Record that were made against Kuwait

Nepal registered a whooping victory over Kuwait to remain in contention to qualify for the Global Qualifiers in UAE.  Nepal had made a great comeback after losing the first match to Qatar. Nepal defeated Malaysia by 7 wickets in the second match followed by another seven wickets victory over Kuwait.

Nepal defeated Kuwait by 7 wickets with 25 balls remaining. Nepal, after winning the toss elected to bowl first and restricted Kuwait to 141 in 20 overs. In reply, Nepal’s opener Gyanendra Malla and Paras Khadka started well with aggressive batting by both the batsmen.

Skipper Khadka smashed 68 runs from 42 balls with 11 fours and a maximum. Similarly, Malla made 19 from 13. Sarad Veswakar was not out on 38 runs from 30 balls.

In the match, four national records were made. They are:

  1. Maximum Fours: In the match, Paras Khadka smashed 11 fours. With this, Khadka surpassed his own record of 8 fours.
  2. Fastest win: Nepal’s win against Kuwait with 25 balls remaining is the fastest win for Nepal in all the T20I played.
  3. Highest second-wicket partnership: For the win, Skipper Khadka and Sharad Veswakar made a brilliant 78 runs partnership which is the highest for Nepal.
  4. Highest Run chase: Nepal’s chase of 141 runs against Kuwait is the highest run chase Nepal had done in T20 international.

Nepal will play their final match of the qualifiers against Singapore with the winner earning qualification to the Global Qualifiers.
