Barcelona is going to host its biggest rival Real Madrid for the el Clasico in La liga in its home stadium Camp Nou on the 24th October Saturday. It will be the first el Clasico match of the season 2019/20. Undoubtedly the match is going to be much special and different though the rivalry has been always the sweetness to be enjoyed by football lovers.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are not at its best this season. Barcelona is going through the worst begin of the session, already suffering two defeats and drawn one match in 8 games. While Real Madrid is in the top of standings with 3 drawn and has not suffered a defeat yet. Real Madrid is still struggling being unable to fill the position their former superstar Cristiano Ronaldo having already losing 3-0 to Paris Saint Germain in Champions league.
Currently Barcelona holds the second position in the standing behind the Real Madrid, though it is going through bad start which might affect much in its mission to defend the title. The team had been much stronger, only being upset by the loss to Liverpool in Champions league and to Valencia in the final of Copa Del rey. Real Madrid had remained trophy less last season.
Many things have changed this season in both the teams. Zinenine Zidane is back as the manager in Real Madrid. It has signed the Belgian star Eden Hazard from Chelsea. However, he has not been able to make an impression in his new club and it might be his opportunity to shine in his first El Clasico match.
Likewise, in Barcelona squad too two stars Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann has been added. In addition the academy youngster Ansu Fati collecting the lime light in attacking. Lionel Messi has been mostly ruled out of the beginning matches and he has started only two times. Though his two matches comeback was enough to warn of his mastery in the pitch.
The two teams met four times last year that include the 5-1 win by Barcelona. Barcelona also had eliminated the Madrid from the Copa Del Rey, However, Ernesto Valverde’s side has a lot to improve in order to keep the same form.
